I belong to the sketchbookproject group and we are doing a monthly theme for chunky book pages.  Below are my pages for the month of August.  They are lots of fun to do and you don't have to do every month if you don't want to and that takes a lot of the pressure off...I enjoyed this month's theme, 'Wine Women and Song' but boy sometimes it is not easy to think up so many different ideas for one theme....

Yesterday was the day to get off my butt and stop procrastinating...get out to the conservation and take pictures of anything and everything to gain more experience with my camera...What a blast I had...I wondered around clicking here and clicking there.  If you look at the photos constructive help is always welcomed.  The picture of the tree trunk does anyone know what the heck is growing out of that trunk; you can see it on the front and also in the little hole in the trunk....the picture of the two exact flowers I put up because I have a hard time with some of the pictures....when I photo adjust them they of course become brighter but I really like some of the ones I left alone...the darker muted colours...those two ways I put up so you could see them adjusted and left alone....which flower do you like the best of these two, the darker or lighter one?  I think I may have to take the pictures twice so I can do both...I have a lot more but will put them up later.  I don't want you to get too bored by my new passion.  In the name of art these will work for wonderful backgrounds for my mixed media and great paintings on canvas....and they will be my designs...life is pretty cool sometimes!!!

Friendship Garden Tag swapped with Tolegranny

I am so bad at getting things put up on the blog....but I must and will do better...that is a promise to me...

Here is a tag swap I did with Tolegranny....we just decided we needed to do this for each other...so mine was on the Friendship Garden .  I had fun doing it.  My muse has a mind of her own though I have to say.  I started out to do a steampunk tag and look where she took it....do you see any steampunk? I think not!!! Who is the boss here...me thinkith it is my Ms Muse.
I was in an ATC swap celebrating the Calgary Stampede so our theme was Cowboys and Cowgirls....below are some of the ones I did...The black cowboy is John Ware first back cowboy and well loved by many people.

Sorry for the glare on Annie's picture...I added acetate and then forgot when I took the picture.

These little quick works of art are a lot of fun to do.....

I could never use a mouse trap to catch a little mouse. How cruel is that?...so when I heard that a swap was being done and they were altering mouse traps to keep little notes on the fridge, I jumped on board.  What fun this was...giggled and giggle I had so much fun doing them.... The birdie one is for my fridge and the other two have gone on to new homes.  I put magnets on the back so they stay nice and firm on the fridge.  I think I will go and do another one but in steampunk this time....oh boy I'm hooked.....

Below are some of the 17 atcs I did for my local scrapbooking shop.  We were having a swap and the theme was Things That Fly.  It was great fun to do. I love doing atcs.

I have a small studio and I am always needing space.  I wish this was my idea but I have seen it floating around for a while now and it sure hit the nail on the head for organizing.  I took the old extra dvd cases we had left over from when my hubby and I have our movie business.  They are thicker than the newer slim cases.  I pulled out the back plastic part that sits inside and holds the dvd in place.  then I put in (on their mylar backing) my cling free stamps.  Now if the set is too big I just cut it in half and put the front showing the stamp and under that I put a cut piece of white paper and under that I put the other half with the stamps facing out the back of the case...so you can turn it over from front to back and see what's in there....I also mounted my rubber stamps the same way.  The mounted stamps I put in the same colour plastic boxes so whenever I see the blue plastic flat boxes (fromMichaels) on the shelf right away I know it is stamps...of course I labelled them anyway...(I like labelling).  All my non word stamps went in one case and the word stamps went in the other case.  My seasonals stamps are all kept together in another case....the dvd cases will fit nicely in a file drawer, shoe box type of case etc. and certainly saves space and time when looking for stamps.
